East Orange, NJ – Senator Britnee N. Timberlake (LD-34) proudly reports on the tremendous success of the Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway, held on November 25, 2024. This inaugural community event brought joy and nourishment to over 300 families, ensuring they had a bountiful Thanksgiving meal to celebrate the holiday season.
This initiative would not have been possible without the District 34 Senate Staff, over 30 volunteers, and the collaboration and generous contributions of outstanding community partners:

• The Timberlake Charles Community Empowerment Center graciously hosted the event, providing a warm and welcoming space for the community to receive food. The entire Timberlake Charles family was there, serving with dedication.
• Embrace Relief contributed significantly by bringing a food trolly packed with turkeys, fresh fruit, and vegetables, as well as COVID tests and sanitizer wipes for over 100 people.
• Food for Hope played a crucial role, with their dedication and support bolstering our mission to combat food insecurity.
• The Care Center of New Jersey was pivotal in the event's success, donating over 200 boxes of food and turkeys.
• Christ Church showed their compassion by carefully packing each box of food with love and care.

“As a leader, it's essential to address inflation with both legislative measures and immediate actions. The Thanksgiving dinner giveaway was an effort to swiftly meet the needs of the people I serve. We are deeply grateful to our partners for their steadfast dedication to our community,” said Senator Britnee N. Timberlake. “This event showcases the strength of collective effort and empathy. Together, we made sure that families could enjoy a warm and nourishing Thanksgiving meal. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, volunteered, and supported this initiative.”

This year’s Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway reflects Senator Timberlake’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and uplifting working families throughout her district.
