For NJ Voters Who Have Previously Voted by Mail
As of 2018, all New Jersey voters who voted by mail-in ballot in the 2016 general election, or in any subsequent elections, have been automatically enrolled to receive mail-in ballots for every election going forward unless he or she opts out. This includes individuals who voted by mail in the 2018 midterms.
If you are enrolled to receive a mail-in ballot but show up at a polling place on Election Day anyway, you will not be permitted to vote on an electronic voting machine, but will instead be asked to fill out a provisional ballot.
