Reflecting on an Empowering Weekend at the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference
This past weekend, I had the incredible honor of participating in the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. It was an inspiring gathering of leaders, advocates, and change-makers dedicated to advancing policies that uplift Black communities across the nation.
The conference was a powerful reminder of the strength of our collective voices and the importance of collaboration in pushing for change. From insightful panel discussions to networking with brilliant minds, it was an opportunity to engage in critical conversations about issues that deeply affect our communities—racial justice, economic equity, health disparities, and voting rights, to name a few.
One of the highlights was speaking on a panel alongside fellow thought leaders, where we discussed pathways to economic empowerment and creating sustainable opportunities for the next generation. The energy and passion in the room were palpable, and it left me both inspired and hopeful about the work we can accomplish together.
This conference reinforced the power of community, advocacy, and action. As we return home, the mission continues—to ensure that the progress we seek becomes a reality for all.
